  • General Function: The primary purpose of the Program Instructor is to teach life skills and other subjects relating to personal development to qualifying participants that are enrolled at The HOPE Center. Instructors play a crucial role in promoting independence, learning, and social inclusion for individuals with diverse needs while assisting them to achieve their full potential.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Tailor teaching methods and materials to meet the specific needs of each individual

    • Use a variety of instructional strategies, such as visual aids, hands-on activities, and simplified communication techniques to ensure effective learning

    • Teach essential life skills: personal hygiene, cooling, budgeting, and transportation use to encourage independence

    • Support social skills development and community engagement: job readiness, peer interaction, and effective communication

    • Encourage socialization and integration within the community, organize outings, events, and other activities that promote interaction

    • Foster a positive and inclusive environment where individuals feel valued

    • Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviors by using positive reinforcement, consistent routines, and structured activities

    • Work with coworkers and other professionals as a team to develop behavior intervention plans

    • Regularly assess individuals’ progress and adjust teaching techniques accordingly

    • Maintain detailed records of progress, goals, and challenges

    • Contributes to maintaining high morale among all employees

    • Must be physically able to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects including the human body

    • Must be able to push or pull a wheelchair to move individuals if necessary

    Minimum Qualifications and Skills

    • High School diploma or GED and at least three years’ experience working with I/DD Adults and one year experience in education

    • CPR/ First Aid Certification

    • North Carolina Intervention Certification

    • Valid NC Driver’s License and acceptable driving record

    • Ability to problem solve and creativity to adapt lessons for various learning styles and abilities

    • Ability to apply knowledge of specific disabilities to instructional strategies

    • Candidates must be 18 years old 

    • Criminal Record History consent is required

  • General Function: The primary purpose of the CommunityDay Support Specialist is to provide one-on-one services to qualifying participants that are enrolled at The HOPE Center. This individual is responsible for implementing specific goals as outlined in the Individual Support Plan.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Implement written goals from treatment plans with the participant one-on-one and reinforce target outcomes

    • Complete documentation of service and submit to agency supervisor weekly

    • Assists in the development and revision of goal plans

    • Annually update credentials

    • Daily communications regarding progress and work schedule

    • Continually monitors and assists participant with accessing the program during all organized day activities on site and in the community

    • Contributes to maintaining high morale among all employees

    • Provides at least 24hr notice if unable to work assigned schedule

    • Must be physically able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body

    • Must be physically able to push or pull a wheelchair to move individuals if necessary

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Candidates must be 18 years old 

    • High School diploma or GED and at least one-year experience working with I/DD Adults 

    • CPR/ First Aid Certification

    • North Carolina Intervention Certification

    • Valid NC Driver’s License and acceptable driving record

    • Criminal Record History consent is required

    • Ability to deal with mental and physical handicaps

    • Understanding of and commitment to the unique nature and role of education and skill development for adults diagnosed with developmental disabilities

  • General Function: The primary purpose of the Supported Employment Specialist is to provide one-on-one services to qualifying participants that are enrolled at The HOPE Center. This individual is responsible for implementing specific goals as outlined in the Individual Support Plan. These responsibilities will include but are not limited to: job development, job coaching, job trainings and ongoing support tailored to the place of employment.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Identify and connect individuals to inclusive employment opportunities

    • Provide transportation as needed to assist with community access

    • Monitor safety, accessibility, and appropriateness of employment settings and adjust plans as needed

    • Implement written goals from treatment plans with the participant one-on-one and reinforce target outcomes

    • Complete documentation of service and submit to agency supervisor weekly

    • Assists in the development and revision of goal plans

    • Annually update credentials

    • Daily communications regarding progress and work schedule

    • Contributes to maintaining high morale among all employees

  • General Function: The primary purpose of the CommunityNetworking Specialist is to provide one-on-one services to qualifying participants that are enrolled at The HOPE Center. This individual is responsible for implementing specific goals as outlined in the Individual Support Plan.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Identify and connect individuals to inclusive community opportunities

    • Promote the development of natural supports and social networks within the community

    • Provide transportation as needed to assist with community access

    • Monitor safety, accessibility, and appropriateness of community settings and adjust plans as needed

    • Implement written goals from treatment plans with the participant one-on-one and reinforce target outcomes

    • Complete documentation of service and submit to agency supervisor weekly

    • Assists in the development and revision of goal plans

    • Annually update credentials

    • Daily communications regarding progress and work schedule

    • Contributes to maintaining high morale among all employees

    • Knowledge of person-centered practices and inclusive community engagement strategies

  • General Function: The primary purpose of the Qualified Professional is to provide oversight, assessment, and guidance in the care and services of qualifying participants that are enrolled at The HOPE Center. QPs play a key role in delivering personalized care, advocating for the needs of individuals with disabilities, ensuring the quality of service, that services are provided in accordance with service plans, regulatory standards, and best practices.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement individualized service plans (ISPs) tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of each individual

    • Conduct regular assessments and reevaluations or progress toward goals and adjust plans as needed

    • Provide guidance and supervision to Community Day Support Specialist

    • Train staff in best practices for working with individuals with IDD: communication techniques, behavior management strategies, and emergency protocols

    • Provide staff support in managing behaviors and ensuring the health and safety of all program participants

    • Document and report progress, changes in condition, or incidents, and provide regular updates to family members, guardians, or funding agencies

    • Contributes to maintaining high morale among all employees

    • Must be physically able to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects, including the human body

    • Must be physically able to push or pull a wheelchair to move individuals if necessary

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, special education with one year experience working with IDD population or bachelor’s degree in any field with four years of experience

    • Ability to develop and implement creative solutions to challenges that arise in the care and support of program participants

    • Ability to work with individuals with diverse needs, understanding their unique challenges and providing the necessary support

    • Ability to provide strong attention to details in managing case documentation, schedules, and ISPs

    • Ability to apply behavior management techniques and develop behavioral intervention plans when needed
